WVU Austin Alumni Committees
We are always looking to add new members to our committees. If you are interested in joining any of these committees, please contact us at [email protected].
Philanthropy
Bring new fundraising ideas to the board and lead the chapter’s fundraising efforts, including our Touchdown Challenge and the WVU Austin Alumni Scholarship Fund. This past year, our chapter distributed $1,180 to charitable causes, led an effort to send 2,000 pair of children’s socks to the WVU Children’s Hospital and added $300 to our scholarship fund.
Social Committee
Organize game watches, happy hours, trips to WVU games in Texas and planning our first annual Summer Shindig. Committee members can choose which social events you want to help organize, you do not have to get involved with all of them.
Family Events
Organize some fun family events and give the little Mountaineers something to cheer about.
Old Gold, New Blue Committee
Kick off our first year supporting the University’s recruiting efforts in Texas. Manage the program logistics and encourage volunteers to write postcards to Texas students interested in WVU.
WVU at Texas Football Game Events
Plan and execute the details for our 3rd bi-annual Friday night party before the WVU at Texas football game in Austin on November 12, 2016. Coordinate details of the tailgate working in conjunction with the WVU Alumni Association.
Website and Social Media
Update website and social media with latest news of the chapter and upcoming events.
Business Networking
Identify new ways for chapter members to learn about each other’s business experiences and discover opportunities to help each other.
